WHO: Elizabeth Yuen @crazie.daisie
Elizabeth began her movement journey in ballet at three years old and has been teaching since sixteen. She holds a degree in kinesiology and worked as a personal trainer, which helps her safely guide students to explore what their bodies can do. She discovered aerial arts in 2020, drawn to the exhilaration, creative challenge, and the way it pushes her comfort zone. Elizabeth now teaches and performs many aerial disciplines, including lyra, hammock, and chains, as well as various circus skills including contortion. Her performance style is dynamic and expressive. She loves inspiring students to move creatively and feel strong, confident, and empowered.
WHEN/WHAT/PREREQUISITS:
Flares! • December 7 • 4-5:30 PM - Learn the mechanics of flares and the key conditioning drills to unlock them on any apparatus! We’ll also explore variations to accommodate height restrictions and play with stylistic options to make them your own.
Prerequisites: Some aerial experience is required. Modifications for all levels will be provided.Lyra Beats & Momentum • December 13 • 6-7:30 pm - Learn how to harness and manipulate beats to power your tricks and move with confidence! We’ll cover standard beats and variations (knee, elbow, ankle, etc., as time allows) and may touch on basic penny drops too.
Prerequisites: Able to knee hang and hang by hands.Breaking Down Lyra Drops • December 20 • 6-7:30 Pm • Breaking Down Lyra Drops - Demystify drops! We’ll go over the theory and mechanics behind regrabs, hip drops, knee drops, and how to safely break down any drop on your own.
Prerequisites: Ideally, participants will have taken the other two workshops or have a solid understanding of beats and the ability to invert. Some exceptions can be made—please reach out to discuss.
