The Dropshop with Dan

WHAT:In this workshop, we will be exploring the dynamic aspect of a “typically non-dynamic apparatus”. We will cover all kinds of rolls, slides, and flips, as well as different entrances and exits for each. The focus of this workshop will be taking several commonly known wraps and applying different actions to each, while also learning new wraps to explore.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Familiarity and ease with traditional beginner and intermediate sling moves.

  • Prior experience with dynamic movement in sling.

  • Must be able to invert in the air unassisted.

  • Must be able to safely “diaper drop”/”front salto” without a spot.

  • Must be able to safely “bomb drop”/”candy cane drop” without a spot.

WHO: Daniel Saab is an aerial performer and coach based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. At the age of 8, he began his aerial artistry at Independent Lake Camp in Orson, Pennsylvania. 10 years later he began his professional journey in NYC. Daniel has performed in various shows from cabarets at Oz New Orleans and The Slipper Room NYC, to bigger productions at larger-scale venues such as Universal Studios Orlando and Madison Square Garden. When not performing, he travels around the country and world to teach workshops and private lessons.
